Three candidates file nominations for Rajya Sabha polls in Rajasthan

Jaipur, 8 June: A total of 3 candidates - 2 of the ruling BJP and 1 of the Congress - have filed their nominations for as many Rajya Sabha seats in Rajasthan as the deadline for filing candidature for the impending biennial elections passed off Monday afternoon.
The BJP nominees, Dr Satish Poonia and Dr Alka Gurjar, reached the party state headquarters here this morning, from where they proceeded to the assembly complex with senior party leaders to file their papers before the Returning Officer.
Dr Poonia, a former party state president, filed candidature before the Returning Officer Bharat Bhushan Sharma in the presence of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Deputy Chief Ministers Diya Kumari and Dr Prem Chand Bairwa and BJP state president Madan Rathore. Poonia submitted 4 sets of nominations.
