Third phase of Telangana Gram Panchayat elections records 85.77 pc turnout

Hyderabad, Dec 17 (UNI) The third and final phase of the Gram Panchayat elections in Telangana recorded a voter turnout of 85.77 per cent.
According to the State Election Commission (SEC), polling began at 0700 hours and concluded at 1300 hours. Counting of votes commenced at 1400 hours. Voters who were in the queue at the close of polling time were permitted to cast their votes.
As of 1630 hours, results had been declared for 91 of the 3,752 Sarpanch posts and 989 of the 38,337 Ward member seats.
