Terrorists, their masters behind Pahalgam will get severe punishment: Yogi

Kanpur, Aprl 24 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday said the terrorists and their masters who killed innocent tourists in J&K's Pahalgam will not be spared and they will soon get severe punishment for their heinous act.
After paying tribute to the mortal remains of Shubham Dwivedi, victim of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the CM consoled the family members and assured them that the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to the policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism and extremism and will soon bring the terrorists, their masters and conspirators who carried out the gruesome, cowardly act in Pahalgam to justice.
He said that Kanpur youth Shubham Dwivedi was also a victim of the terrorist attack on tourists on April 22. "This attack is a cruel, gruesome and cowardly act which has been condemned not only by India but every civilised society in the world. This incident shows that terrorism is breathing its last," he said.
Yogi said the innocent tourists were attacked after they were asked their caste and religion and their sindoor was destroyed in front of their sisters and daughters. "No civilised society can accept such an act," he said.
He said the Indian government's zero tolerance policy towards terrorism and extremism will effectively eradicate terrorism. "The process of putting the final nail on its coffin has already begun. Tough decisions have been taken in the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meeting chaired by the Prime Minister on Wednesday. The Home Minister himself visited the areas where this incident took place," he said.
The CM said, "Along with the strategy ahead, the whole of India has now moved forward to end terrorism and extremism. India has a zero tolerance policy towards terrorism and extremism, the whole of India should trust Prime Minister Narendra Modi."
He said that Shubham Dwivedi was the only son of the family. "He got married just 2 months ago. We all pray for the peace of the departed soul and express condolences to the family. In this hour, the whole country condemns this inhuman and barbaric act," he said.
Yogi said the double engine government stands with the whole family. "Remember, this is a double engine government and this government knows how to work with zero tolerance towards any barbaric and inhuman terrorist incident. This is not the government that withdraws cases filed against terrorists or looks for its vote bank there too," he said.
