Tens of thousands of New Yorkers join national protests against Trump administration

New York, June 15 (UNI) Despite continuous rains, tens of thousands of people showed up in New York City to join nationwide "No Kings" protests against the Trump administration's policies.
Over 90 "No Kings" protests are planned for the day across New York state as millions across the whole country are expected to take part in a "nationwide day of defiance."
According to the "No Kings" website on Saturday, the nationwide protest has been organized to "(reject) authoritarianism, billionaire-first politics and the militarization of our democracy."

Deal to end war near as talks focus on Hormuz reopening, asset release and reconstruction: Iran

Tehran/Washington, June 13 (UNI) Iran's Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said that a deal with the United States to end hostilities is close to being finalised, with the proposed agreement expected to include the reopening of the strategic Strait of Hormuz, the release of frozen Iranian assets and measures to support Iran's post-war reconstruction.

Iran says draft US agreement does not require surrendering control of Strait of Hormuz

Tehran, Jun 12 (UNI) Iran's state news agency has rejected suggestions that the proposed US-Iran MOU would require Tehran to relinquish control over the Strait of Hormuz, with the nation's official IRNA news agency reporting that the current draft text contains no provision which require the Islamic Republic to either hand over management of the strategic waterway, or restore shipping to pre-war levels.
