Ten Doeschate backs Sai, highlights allrounder strategy

New Delhi, Oct 8 (UNI) Young top-order batsman Sai Sudharsan will continue at No. 3 in India’s second Test against West Indies, as the team looks to give him consistent opportunities to cement his place, assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate said today.
Having had a mixed start to his Test career, Sai now has a chance to show his credentials at the crucial top-order slot. "He knows there’s competition for that spot, but he’s got our full backing," Ten Doeschate said. "We just want him to go out and bat freely. There’s no panic. In a winning team, you can absorb that pressure."
India are sticking to their winning combination despite a "dry and patchy" surface expected at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The same XI that dominated the first Test in Ahmedabad will take the field, reflecting a longer-term plan to develop a seam-bowling all-rounder for overseas tours.
