Telangana: TS Genco and TS Transco chief Prabhakar Rao resigns

Hyderabad, Dec 4 (UNI) Chairman and Managing Director of TS-Genco and TS-Transco Devulapalli Prabhakar Rao resigned from his post, here on Monday.
Following the change in the Telangana Government, Prabhakar sent his resignation letter to the Special Chief Secretary to the Government.
Prabhakar played a crucial role in ensuring round the clock power supply to domestic, commercial and agricultural users after he restructured the transco and genco and ensured that Telangana stood top in power generation, minimization of transmission and distribution losses and in winning accolades from different agencies for the state.

In May 2019, the state government extended the tenure of Prabhakar Rao who completed 50 years of service in power utilities on January 10,2019. He joined an assistant accounts office on January 10,1969.

In October this year, Prabhakar Rao alleged that some IAS officers in the State administration have been creating hurdles in the functioning of power utilities by not releasing funds for daily purchase of energy from the exchange to meet demand, despite instructions from the Chief Minister.
In the BRS government, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao appointed several retired IAS officers in various positions.
Meanwhile, KV Ramanachary also resigned from the post of Advisor (cultural and media) in the Telangana government.
With the Congress party setting to form the government in Telangana, all the officers who are continuing in various responsibilities are gearing up to resign from their posts.
