Telangana Minister Vivek Venkataswamy stresses worker safety, cites Sigachi tragedy as case study

Hyderabad, Sep 11 (UNI) Telangana Labour, Employment and Mines Minister Vivek Venkataswamy today underlined the need for stringent safety measures in industries, warning that negligence by managements could lead to tragedies like the one at Pashamailaram’s Sigachi Industries, which claimed 53 lives.
Speaking as the chief guest at a training program on job safety in the chemical and pharmaceutical sector, held at MCR HRD Institute, Jubilee Hills, under the aegis of the Industries Department, the Minister launched a Training of Trainers initiative.
The program is aimed at safety representatives of chemical and pharmaceutical companies as well as principals of ITI colleges.

78 30 pc enumeration forms digitised in Telangana SIR exercise: CEO

Hyderabad, Aug 11 (UNI) Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudarsan Reddy on Tuesday said that 2,64,87,214 Enumeration Forms, accounting for 78.30 per cent of the total electors in the State, had been digitised upon completion of the Enumeration Phase under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
