Telangana Legislative Assembly adopts resolution opposing delimitation

Hyderabad, Mar 27 (UNI) The Telangana Legislative Assembly on Thursday passed a resolution opposing the proposed delimitation exercise, citing concerns over its transparency and the potential disadvantages for states that have successfully implemented population control measures.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy introduced the resolution, emphasising that the delimitation process should not proceed without transparent consultations with all stakeholders, including State Governments, political parties, and other concerned groups.
Expressing deep concern over the methodology being considered, the resolution highlighted that states which have effectively implemented population control programs should not be penalized by losing representation in Parliament. The Chief Minister stressed that population alone should not be the sole criterion for delimitation.
