Telangana Health Minister urges simplified procedures to boost organ donations

Hyderabad, March 10 (UNI) Telangana Minister for Medical and Health, Damodar Rajanarsimha, on Tuesday directed officials to simplify procedures to encourage organ donations, emphasising that the state's organ transplant framework should serve as a model for other states.
Rajanarsimha held a high-level review meeting with private hospital managements at the Secretariat, focusing on the transplantation of human organs and Tissues Act (THOTA) policy and the implementation of the Clinical Establishment Act. Discussions covered organ transplant treatments, the development of comprehensive policies, and regulation of treatment costs in private hospitals.
The Minister urged private hospitals to ensure that donated organs are not wasted and instructed officials to develop procedures for patients coming from other countries for organ transplantation.
