Telangana Govt calls for coordinated action to combat human trafficking and bonded labour

Hyderabad, Apr 18 (UNI) Telangana Minister for Women and Child Welfare D.Anasuya Seethakka on Saturday stressed that effective implementation of laws is critical and called for coordinated action across departments to combat trafficking and bonded labour.
Addressing the gathering at a State-Level Convergence Workshop on Combating Human Trafficking Pertaining to Bonded Labour organized by the Women Safety Wing of Telangana Police, in collaboration with the International Justice Mission (IJM) here, Seethakka emphasised strengthening local livelihoods, self-help groups and community systems to reduce vulnerability to trafficking.
Labour Minister Vivek Venkataswamy said bonded labour severely undermines human dignity and called for collective efforts involving government agencies, NGOs and the public.
