Telangana Deputy CM presents CAG report 2023-24 in Legislative Assembly

Hyderabad, Mar 27 (UNI) Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka presented the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report for 2023-24 in the Legislative Assembly on Thursday, highlighting key financial aspects of the state’s economy.
According to the CAG report, the 2023-24 Budget Estimate was Rs 2,77,690 crore, while the actual expenditure incurred stood at Rs 2,19,307 crore, accounting for 79 per cent of the estimated budget and 15 per cent of the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP). The government exceeded the approved budget estimates by Rs 1,11,477 crore, which is 33 per cent more than initially planned.
The report noted that the state government relied significantly on short-term borrowing, utilizing the Ways and Means Advance facility for Rs 10,156 crore over 349 days and the Overdraft facility for Rs 35,425 crore over 145 days.
