Telangana: Akshayakalpa Organic eyes Rs 400 crore revenue this year

Hyderabad, Jan 23 (UNI) Bengalur- based Akshayakalpa Organic, India’s first certified organic dairy enterprise that offers milk and milk products that are free from antibiotics, synthetic additives, and chemical pesticide residue, is expecting Rs 400 crore revenue this year against Rs 285 crore revenue last year.
Recognizing Hyderabad as a hub for health-conscious consumers, the company set up a 40,000 ltrs capacity per day processing plant at Jadcherla, outskirts of the city with an investment of Rs 20 crore and the plant operations will commence between oct-November this year.
This plant would be the third processing unit after the two state-of-the-art processing plants—one in Tiptur ( Karnataka) and one in Chengalpattu (Tamil Nadu), said Shashi Kumar, CEO and Co-Founder of Akshayakalpa Organic in a press conference here on Thursday.
To cater to the growing demand for organic products, the company has started its operations from the Shad Nagar Farm (Hyderabad) and is currently working with 65+ farmers and aims to increase it to 385 farmers in the next three years, helping them to transition to organic and sustainable farming practices, he informed.
Presently, the company’s milk sales per day in three cities ( Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad ) is 1.35 lakh ltrs, he said that we are planning to set up another cluster at Pune (Maharashtra) and it is likely to come up into operational in next 3-5 years.
The nutrition-rich products of Akshayakalpa include Milk, Ghee, Cheese, Butter, Paneer, Curd, Buttermilk, Bread, Honey, Batter, Coconut, and Virgin Coconut oil, and many new products to be launched in the pipeline, he said currently, has about 300000 plus customers across Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad and growing.
Akshayakalpa has crafted a world-class model that not only creates a new industry benchmark in dairy farming practices but also nurtures farmers in line with its mission to create a holistic ecosystem-led transformation through its Farmer-Entrepreneurship Initiatives, said Shashi Kumar, who started this firm in 2010 after quitting IT professional job in Wipro.
As a key part of its sustainability journey, Akshayakalpa Organic has established a fully functional model farm and R&D center in Shad Nagar, outskirts of Hyderabad. It offers families an immersive experience in organic living, he informed.
Additionally, as part of its efforts to promote sustainability, Akshayakalpa Organic has actively engaged with Hyderabad’s conscious consumers through its pioneering ‘Give Back the Milk Pack’ initiative. This program has successfully recycled over 40,000 kgs of plastic waste across Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai, demonstrating the brand’s commitment to environmental stewardship, he said.
In addition to this, Akshayakalpa Organic organizes lake cleaning drives and neighborhood cleanliness drives in major cities, including Hyderabad, to empower communities to make eco-friendly choices. By inviting residents to actively participate, these efforts underscore the importance of collective action in creating a sustainable future, he said.
Further advancing its eco-conscious practices, Akshayakalpa Organic has introduced paperboard packaging for its dairy products and leaf-based packaging for vegetables, significantly reducing its plastic footprint. The company also supports local farmers by providing financial assistance and resources to adopt organic farming practices, he added.
