Telangana: ACB arrests DSP, Inspector in bribery case

Suryapet (Telangana), May 13 (UNI) Two senior police officers were arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau of Telangana for demanding a bribe of ₹25 lakhs from a complainant, state police said on Tuesday. The bribe amount was reduced to ₹16 lakh.
The police officers were identified as K. Partha Sarathi, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Suryapet division and P. Veera Ragahvaulu, Inspector (SHO), Suryapet town.
"The accused cops demanded the bribe "to issue a notice instead of arrest in a case registered against the complainant and allow him to run his scanning center smoothly," said an ACB official.
