Tehsildar caught red-handed taking bribe in Handwara

Srinagar, June 21 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday caught Tehsildar of Qaziabad Kralgund in Handwara, red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 from a complainant in exchange for granting permission to cut walnut trees.
The action followed a complaint by a Handwara resident who alleged that Tehsildar Ghulam Rasool Bhat demanded Rs 1 lakh as a bribe for cutting of walnut trees.
The complainant, citing poverty, paid Rs 50,000 in advance but was asked to pay the remaining amount before receiving the permissions.

HC pulls up Centre, NHAI over waterlogging issue

Mobile internet services in Nuh to curb misinformation

Eviction drive Intensifies in Kotkhai: Over 1,220 apple and pear trees felled

Shimla, July 13 (UNI)The court-monitored forest land eviction drive in Kotkhai area of Shimla district in Himachal Pradesh gained further momentum today, with the Special Operation Procedure (SOP) team felling 472 fruit-bearing trees in Village Chaithla of Gram Panchayat Pandali
The eviction drive was undertaken following the Himachal Pradesh High Court's strict directives to remove illegal apple orchards from encroached forest land.
