Teacher MLAs stage protest at Nagpur legislature demanding "Old Pension Scheme"

Nagpur, Dec 13 (UNI) Teacher Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) staged a protest at the Vidhan Bhavan premises here on Saturday during the winter session of the Maharashtra Legislature, demanding the implementation of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) and resolution of long-pending issues related to aided educational institutions.
MLAs from various parties participated in the protest wearing yellow caps bearing the slogan “One Mission, Old Pension.” They raised slogans such as “Pension is our right, not charity,” and urged the state government to take an immediate decision on OPS for teachers and non-teaching staff.
Among those present were teacher MLAs Vikram Kale, Kiran Sarnayak, J.M. Abhyankar, Prof. Kishor Darade, Prof. Jayant Asgaonkar, and Dnyaneshwar Mhatre.
