Tabu teams up with Akshay Kumar in Priyadarshan's horror-comedy Bhoot Bangla

Mumbai, January 12 (UNI) Bollywood actress Tabu has officially joined the cast of Priyadarshan's upcoming horror-comedy film Bhoot Bangla.

The movie stars Akshay Kumar in the lead role, marking another collaboration between the actor and the acclaimed filmmaker after a 14 year gap, a partnership that has delivered iconic films like "Bhool Bhulaiya" and "Hera Pheri".

Tabu took to Instagram to announce her involvement, sharing a picture of the film's clapperboard with the caption, "Hum yahan bandh hain" (translates to: We're locked in here).

The project also reunites Akshay and Tabu after their work in the 2000 cult classic "Hera Pheri", which too was helmed by Priyadarshan. Joining them are an ensemble of seasoned performers, including Paresh Rawal, Wamiqa Gabbi, Rajpal Yadav and Asrani, all of whom are expected to deliver a mix of hilarity and suspense.

The film is being produced under the banners of Shobha Kapoor, Ekta R Kapoor, and Akshay Kumar’s Cape of Good Films. Co-produced by Farah Shaikh and Vedant Bali, the project has been penned by Akash A. Kaushik, with the screenplay crafted by Rohan Shankar, Abhilash Nair, and Priyadarshan. Dialogues are credited to Rohan Shankar.

The film is set to release on April 2, 2026. UNI XC SSP
