Syrup deaths, Indore district admin issues directive

Indore, Oct 7 (UNI) In the wake of many children dying after consuming the poisonous cough syrup Coldrif in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhindwara district, the district administration has become active.
Collector Shivam Verma issued a directive that any doctor found to prescribe the banned cough syrup would have a First Information Report registered against him or her and be incarcerated.
The bureaucrat ordered the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) and the Food and Drug Department to strictly monitor medical stores and children’s hospitals.
