Melbourne, Jan 20 (UNI) Iga Swiatek continued her dominant run at the Australian Open 2025 with a commanding 6-0 6-1 victory over lucky loser Eva Lys, advancing to the quarterfinals in dominant fashion here on Monday.
The 23-year-old Pole, who has amassed five Grand Slam titles, showed why she remains one of the sport’s most formidable forces. Despite the oppressive heat and humidity, Swiatek displayed an almost flawless performance, with her powerful forehand and precise passing shots overwhelming Lys.
Swiatek's next opponent will be Emma Navarro, who faced a far tougher challenge in her 6-4 5-7 7-5 win over Russia’s Daria Kasatkina.
