Suryakumar calls Bumrah as national treasure of India cricket

Ahmedabad, March 8 (UNI) India captain Suryakumar Yadav heaped praise on Jasprit Bumrah, calling him "a once in a generation bowler" and "a national treasure" after India’s commanding win in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Bumrah’s 4/15 in the final played a decisive role in India’s 96-run victory over New Zealand.
Speaking after the match, Suryakumar described Bumrah’s impact on the team as unmatched, highlighting his ability to perform under pressure and guide younger players.
"Bumrah knows exactly what needs to be done and how to do it under pressure. He’s the best in the business, and having him in the team gives everyone confidence. Players like Sanju, Abhishek, and Varun have the talent to win matches, but Jasprit’s experience, guidance, and calmness on the field elevate the entire team. He’s not just a bowler; he’s a once-in-a-generation player and a true national treasure," he said.
