Sunetra Pawar calls for transparent distribution of minority funds, orders inquiry into fake status certificates

Mumbai, Feb 16 (UNI) Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Minority Development Sunetra Ajit Pawar has directed officials to ensure fair and transparent distribution of funds meant for minority communities across the state, stressing that benefits must reach every eligible section without bias.
She said the functioning of the department should become more responsive to people and accountable in its approach. At the same time, she ordered a detailed investigation into allegations that certain schools had secured minority status certificates through improper means, and instructed that strict action be initiated against those found guilty after inquiry.
The directions were issued during a comprehensive review meeting of the Minority Development Department held under her chairpersonship at Sahyadri State Guest House in Mumbai. The meeting was attended by Secretary Ruchesh Jayvanshi, Secretary to the Deputy Chief Minister Dr Rajesh Deshmukh, Joint Secretary Manoj Jadhav, Deputy Secretary M.P. Shenoy, Under Secretaries Sarangkumar Patil, Jahangir Khan, Vishakha Aadhav and Meghna Shinde.
