Sunetra Pawar assumes charge as Maharashtra’s first woman Deputy CM

Mumbai Feb 10 (UNI) Sunetra Pawar on Tuesday officially assumed charge of her office at Mantralaya in Mumbai as the Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister, becoming the first woman to hold this position. She was sworn in on January 31, following the tragic death of her husband, Ajit Pawar, in a plane crash on January 28.
At the time of taking charge, she was accompanied by her son, Parth Pawar, senior leaders Parful Patel, Sunil Tatkare, Chagan Bhujbal, and other party members.
Earlier in the morning, Sunetra Pawar began her first day of official engagements by offering prayers at the Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai. The Deputy CM sought blessings at the revered shrine before stepping into her new role.
