Sudharsan's composed knock puts India in command at lunch

Mullanpur, June 6 (UNI) Sai Sudharsan displayed remarkable composure under pressure as his unbeaten 32 guided India to 96 for one at lunch on the opening day of the one-off Test against Afghanistan at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium here on Saturday.
Walking in after the dismissal of Yashasvi Jaiswal at 41 for one, Sudharsan weathered the immediate pressure and gradually seized control of the contest with a blend of sound technique and attractive strokeplay, ensuring Afghanistan's breakthrough yielded little reward.
The young left-hander looked increasingly assured with every passing over. He got off the mark with a crisp flick off Azmatullah Omarzai, followed it with a flowing straight drive against Mohammad Saleem Safi and repeatedly punished anything loose.
