Sudden drop in temperature brings early winter chill across Jharkhand

Ranchi, Nov 12 (UNI) Jharkhand is witnessing an unexpected change in weather as a sharp drop in temperature has gripped several parts of the state with an early onset of cold conditions. What began as warm afternoons in early November has now turned into chilly days and colder nights, leaving residents struggling with the sudden weather shift.
In the capital city Ranchi and adjoining areas, temperatures have plummeted by five to six degrees Celsius within just a few days. Until last week, people were seen strolling around in light clothing, but as the mercury dipped, sweaters and jackets have made a quick return to wardrobes. The morning and evening hours have become particularly cold, prompting people to light bonfires to beat the chill.
The situation is more severe in the western parts of the state, particularly in Gumla, where the minimum temperature has dropped to 8.5°C. Streets wear a deserted look after dusk, and groups of residents can be seen gathering around small fires for warmth. Similar conditions have been reported from Koderma, Ramgarh, and Garhwa, where minimum temperatures have touched around 9°C. Despite brief sunshine during the day, the cold winds have made the weather uncomfortable.
