Students of Orchids - The International School celebrates Independence Day

Pune, Aug 15 (UNI) Students from Orchids - The International School (OIS), celebrated Independence Day with patriotic fervor at Sambhaji Chowk, Nigdi.
The program commenced with the unfurling of National flag to commemorate Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. Everyone sang the national anthem enthusing their hearts with sentiments for the motherland. Followed by a social awareness march by the students at Sambhaji Chowk, Nigdi. Students held up handmade placards which carried various messages on some of the persisting issues in the country which needed attention from society.
The students performed a special act on the me “Har Ghar Tiranga”, in support of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav which is an initiative by the government of India. OIS Students performed a street play/ Nukad Natak on to create awareness on the social issues such as Road Safety and Gender Equality. Another interesting and entertaining part of the celebration was the flash mob performance by OIS students on some of the patriotic songs. Every performance was cheered and applauded by the crowd.
