Strengthen drainage system ahead of monsoon: Bihar Minister Nitish Mishra

Patna, May 14 (UNI) Bihar Urban Development and Housing Minister Nitish Mishra today directed officials to fully strengthen the drainage system across the state, drawing lessons from waterlogging issues faced in previous years.
Mishra said here that in view of recurring problems of waterlogging and drainage during the monsoon and heavy rainfall, pre-monsoon preparedness has been accorded top priority by the department this year.
He emphasised that necessary steps are being taken to improve drainage infrastructure, prevent obstructions caused by ongoing construction works, and ensure quick response mechanisms to tackle waterlogging situations.
