Kalicharan Maharaj sent to 14 days judicial custody

Mumbai, Jan 21 (UNI) A local court on Friday remanded 14 days judicial custody to the controversial Hindu religious guru Kalicharan Maharaj in connection with his alleged derogatory remarks against Mahatma Gandhi in dharma Sansad recently. Naupada police had arrested him, following a complaint registered by state Housing Minister and NCP leader Jitendra Awhad for his alleged remarks against Mahatma Gandhi. He was brought to Thane on Thursday evening on transit remand from Raipur, in Chhatishgarh where he was lodged in jail in a similar case. Apart from Chhattisgarh, Kalicharan has been facing multiple cases in Maharashtra for the comments he had made against Mahatma Gandhi during an event held in the Chhattisgarh capital city on December 26 last year. The Raipur police had arrested him from Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh for his alleged derogatory comments against the father of the Nation. UNI ST NV SY
