Stock markets recover from early losses, IT stocks gain

New Delhi, Jul 13 (UNI) Indian Stock Markets on Monday recovered smartly from early losses to close marginally higher. Gains were recorded in information technology stocks.
At close, the Sensex was up 47.01 points or 0.06 percent at 77,616.40, while the Nifty was up 4.10 points or 0.02 percent at 24,211. Further, Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100, ended on flat note.
Among the sectors, Nifty IT surged 3.59%, Nifty Media closed with a healthy gain of 2.09% while Nifty Consumer Durables rose by 1.15%. Further, Nifty Bank, PSU Bank and Private Bank indices ended 0.15%, 0.11%, and 0.25% higher, respectively. On the other hand, Nifty FMCG fell 1%, and Metal pack declined by 0.69%.
Among the top gainers on the Nifty, TCS led the rally with a gain of 5.4%, followed by HCLTech, Tech Mahindra, Infosys and Bajaj Auto. On the losing side, Grasim Industries emerged as the biggest laggard, declining 2%, followed by Tata Steel, Nestle India, InterGlobe Aviation (IndiGo) and Eternal.
Nearly 185 stocks hit their 52-week highs while 78 stocks hit their 52-week lows in intraday trade on the BSE.
Those on the highs were Federal Bank, JSW Infrastructure, FSN E-Commerce Ventures (Nykaa), Oracle Financial Services Software (OFSS), One 97 Communications (Paytm), The Phoenix Mills, and Torrent Pharmaceuticals. On lows were Elitecon International, National Standard (India), and TechNVision Ventures.
Among key IT stocks, TCS jumped 5.4%, Newgen Software Technologies surged 13.3%. Sonata Software, Zensar Technologies, Birlasoft, Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Mphasis, Cyient, eClerx Services, Coforge, Persistent Systems, and Netweb Technologies, rallied between 2.5% and 11%. UNI VK SAS

Tata Trusts begins move to find successor to Chandrasekaran

Mumbai, Aug 13 (UNI) Tata Trusts which holds a controlling stake of 66 per cent in Tata Sons stated here in an official statement on Thursday that its nominee directors received an email from Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran on August 12 informing them of his decision to step down after completing his present term.
The statement also mentioned that the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust (SDTT) has begun the process of appointing a successor to Chandrasekaran, a day after he announced that he would not seek another term after his current tenure concludes on February 20, 2027.
