Stock Markets end in green amid easing crude prices

New Delhi, Jun 2 (UNI) The Indian Stock Markets on Tuesday pared early losses and staged a sharp recovery. The markets were in green due to various reasons, including value buying and easing crude prices.
At close, Sensex was 382.50 points or 0.52 per cent higher at 74,649.84, while Nifty ended 100.95 points or 0.43 per cent higher at 23,483.55. About 2,222 shares advanced, 1,803 shares declined, and 165 shares were unchanged.
Benchmark Sensex surged 800 points from the day's low, and Nifty reclaimed the 23,450-mark.
The volatility index, India VIX, eased 7 per cent to 15.36, which indicates buyers are finding comfort to buy at these levels.
Brent crude prices fell marginally by 1.6 per cent to trade at USD 93.47.
The top contributors were Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), HDFC Bank, and HCL Technologies.
On Nifty, TCS, Infosys, HCL Technologies, Adani Enterprises, and Wipro were among the top gainers, while NTPC led the losers with a 3 per cent decline, and Axis Bank, Power Grid, HDFC Life, Dr Reddy's Labs, and Bajaj Auto were among other stocks that closed 1-1.7 per cent lower.
Investor focus has shifted to key macro factors, including monsoon progress, inflation trends, RBI policy, and liquidity conditions.
Shares of ICICI Bank, Reliance Industries, and Bharti Airtel came off lows.
Rupee traded weaker near 95.26, down around 0.35 per cent, due to the sharp rise in crude oil prices.
Markets will closely track the RBI policy outcome, along with key US economic data.
