State-Level U-19 Cricket selection trials under ‘Khelo Jharkhand’ to be held on Nov 12

Ranchi, Nov. 10 (UNI) The Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC) under the Department of School Education and Literacy, to organize the state-level open selection trials for Under-19 boys and girls cricket on November 12, at the South Railway Colony Ground, Chutia, Ranchi, starting at 8:00 a.m.
According to State Programme Officer Dhirsen Soreng, a 21-day training camp will be conducted for selected players, following which the final Jharkhand U-19 cricket teams will be formed to represent the state in the upcoming National School Games (SGFI). The U-19 Boys’ tournament will be held in Rohtak, Haryana, from December 5 to 9, while the U-19 Girls’ event will take place in Madhya Pradesh from January 1 to 6, 2026.
The objective of the trials is to identify sports talent at the school level and provide students with opportunities to compete at state and national platforms. The department aims to promote a culture of sports in schools to nurture discipline, teamwork, and confidence among students.
