Starmer blames Trump, Putin for UK energy price surge

London, Apr 10 (UNI) UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has voiced strong frustration with Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, holding their actions responsible for a sharp rise in oil and gas prices in the United Kingdom amid ongoing global conflicts.
Linking the surge to the Russia–Ukraine war and the recent tensions involving Iran, Starmer said geopolitical instability triggered by the two leaders had left British households and businesses vulnerable to volatile energy costs, UK media reported.
Speaking from Bahrain, where he met Gulf leaders including Mohammed bin Salman and Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Starmer adopted a cautious stance on the West Asia ceasefire, particularly regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
