Srinath backs Prasad, seeks end to Brijesh Patel's long rule

Bengaluru, Nov 11 (UNI) Taking an indirect aim at Brijesh Patel, former India pacer Javagal Srinath on Tuesday called for a complete overhaul of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) administration, urging the end of "one-man control" and advocating the inclusion of fellow stalwarts like Rahul Dravid and Venkatesh Prasad to lead the body into a new era.
Extending strong backing to Prasad’s team in the upcoming KSCA elections on November 30, Srinath said it was time for experienced cricketers to bring integrity and fresh energy to the state's cricketing setup. "It is not about losing interest. One cannot be in administration forever. We could have contested now, but we want Venkatesh to come and do the job. And we want Rahul (Dravid) also to come in at some stage," he told reporters.
Srinath emphasised that cricket administration should not be treated as a position of power but as a platform to serve the game. "It cannot be one man all the time like what’s been happening in the other camp. Administration is not a position of power; it’s a position to contribute," he asserted.
