Sri Lanka Navy arrests 4 Indian fishermen for illegal poaching in its waters

Pudukottai (Tamil Nadu), June 18 (UNI) Sri Lankan Navy on Tuesday arrested four Indian fishermen and confiscated their mechanised fishing trawler on the alleged charges of violating the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) and indulged in illegal poaching in the Island nation’s territorial waters.

Tamil Nadu fisheries department officials said here that the arrested fishermen hailed from Kottaipattinam coastal hamlet in Pudukottai district and they were detained by Sri Lankan naval personnel when they were fishing in sea off the Delft Island.
