Spiritual music helps in reducing surgical stress: Study

Lucknow, Mar 26 (UNI) A study conducted has revealed that spiritual music significantly reduces mental stress and anxiety in patients undergoing surgery, official sources said here on Wednesday.
Sources said that the research, carried out by scientists at Maharani Laxmi Bai Medical College, Jhansi, has been published in the prestigious international journal Cureus, based in the United States.
Sources said that the survey was conducted under the guidance of the Yogi government on 150 patients scheduled for surgery, who were divided into two groups. "One group listened to Hindu spiritual music, while the other chose instrumental music of their preference. The findings showed that patients exposed to spiritual music experienced a marked reduction in stress and anxiety," they said.
