Spike in crypto complaints prompts public alert by HP cyber police

Shimla, June 23(UNI) Amid a surge in cyber fraud linked to cryptocurrency, the Himachal Pradesh Cyber Crime Branch has issued a public advisory urging citizens to exercise caution while dealing in digital assets.
The advisory comes in the wake of rising complaints about illegal crypto transactions, fake trading platforms, and misuse of crypto on the dark web.
In 2024 alone, the state cyber helpline number 1930 received 135 complaints related to cryptocurrency fraud. An additional 24 cases have already been reported in 2025 from various parts of the state
