According to data obtained by UNI, 22,00,858 electors across these districts have been flagged for deletion, primarily on three grounds: death, change of residence, or absence during field verification, underscoring the scale of the exercise in the state’s sensitive border belt.
Together, these 10 districts have a combined electorate of 3,96,33,580, representing a substantial portion of West Bengal’s total electorate of 7,66,37,529. Across the state, a total of 58,17,851 electors have been identified for deletion, with the border districts alone accounting for 37.9% of all proposed removals..
