SPB’s legacy an indelible chapter in Indian film music: Sridhar Babu

Hyderabad, Dec 15 (UNI) Telangana Minister for Information Technology and Industries Duddilla Sridhar Babu on Monday said legendary singer S P Balasubrahmanyam (SPB) had left an indelible and enduring imprint on the history of Indian film music.
Speaking at the unveiling of SPB’s statue at Ravindra Bharathi, organised by The Music Group Hyderabad, the Minister said SPB was an artiste who transcended linguistic and cultural boundaries. He recalled that SPB had rendered over 40,000 songs in 14 Indian languages, underlining the universal appeal of music.
Sridhar Babu said that despite the passage of time and changing generations, SPB’s songs continue to retain their freshness and emotional depth, resonating strongly with Telugu audiences and music lovers across the country. The statue was unveiled jointly by the Minister and former Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu.

Village officer's 'Stop memo' directing halt to bridge construction at ‘Kumbh Mela’ site triggers row in Kerala

The village officer’s stop memo has triggered a controversy ahead of the proposed ‘Kumbh Mela’ on the banks of the Bharathapuzha, to be started next week.
Despite the stop memo, the organisers asserted that the event will go ahead as scheduled.
