Spain to send additional Hawk missile defense system to Ukraine

Madrid, Sep 6 (UNI) Spain will provide Ukraine with an additional Hawk missile defense battery in response to Kiev's request to provide more air defense systems to protect Ukrainian skies, the Spanish government said on Friday.
"In response to the request for air defense systems by [Ukrainian President [Volodymyr] Zelenskyy, [Defense] Minister [Margarita] Robles announced the immediate delivery of a complete HAWK battery, which includes 6 missile launchers also donated by Spain and is already located in Poland," the statement read.
In July, the Spanish defense Ministry said that Madrid may be able to supply Ukraine with more Hawk systems by the end of 2024.
