Lucknow, June 24 (UNI) Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav has slammed dominant castes for thrashing a 'katha vachak' or religious preacher in Etawah as he was not a Brahmin.
"These people want to maintain their monopoly in religious matters. If people of all castes can hear the Bhagwat katha then why can't they hear it from other castes? If a true Krishna devotee will be stopped from telling the Bhagwat Katha, it will be an insult to the society," he claimed.
The SP president, while talking to the media here on Tuesday, said if that is the case then people from dominant castes should declare that the donations and offerings given by the PDA (Pichhde' (backwards), Dalits, and 'Alpsankhyak' (minorities)) , will never be accepted for religious purposes.
