Southwest Monsoon further advanced into some more parts of Vidarbha

Pune, Jun 20(UNI) Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, northwest Bay of Bengal, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and some parts of Bihar. Conditions are favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of north Arabian Sea, Gujarat state, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, northwest Bay of Bengal, some parts of Gangetic West Bengal, remaining parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, some parts of Jharkhand, some more parts of Bihar and some parts of east Uttar Pradesh during next 3-4 day.
Day temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at many places over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi; at a few places over Uttarakhand, west Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, east Uttar Pradesh, Bihar; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at many places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad; at a few places over Jharkhand; at isolated places over Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh,
Chhattisgarh, Odisha; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many place over Telangana; at a few places over Vidarbha, Kerala and Mahe and at isolated places over east Madhya Pradesh, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. These were markedly below normal (5.1°C or less) at a few places over Assam and Meghalaya; at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim; below normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at a few places over Andaman and Nicobar Islands and near normal over rest parts of the country. Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 45.1°C was reported at Kanpur IAF (Uttar Pradesh) over the country.
