Southwest Airlines opens Global Innovation Centre in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, May 20 (UNI) Global carrier Southwest Airlines on Wednesday inaugurated its Global Innovation Centre (GIC) at the Argus Building in Sattva Knowledge City, Gachibowli, marking a significant addition to Hyderabad’s growing Global Capability Centre (GCC) ecosystem.
Speaking after inaugurating the facility, Telangana IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu said the decision of Southwest Airlines to establish its innovation hub in Hyderabad reflected the confidence global technology companies have in Telangana’s infrastructure, governance, and talent ecosystem.
The minister said Hyderabad had emerged as a preferred destination for global innovation centres due to its robust physical and digital infrastructure and strong pool of skilled youth. He noted that several states were competing to attract GCCs and innovation hubs, but Hyderabad’s technological ecosystem and talent base helped the city stand out.
