Thiruvananthapuram, July 18 (UNI) HLL Lifecare Limited, a Mini Ratna Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, has launched Happy Days–Earth, a 100 per cent compostable sanitary napkin that meets both Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) quality norms and compostability requirements, marking a significant step towards sustainable menstrual hygiene products in India.
Happy Days–Earth is among the first sanitary napkins in the country to conform to both BIS standards and IS/ISO 17088 compostability requirements.
Studies have shown that the product achieves more than 91 per cent biodegradation within 156 days, while also meeting physical disintegration and compostability standards.
