IIT Palakkad develops camera-free touch sensor for safer human-machine interaction

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 22 (UNI) IIT Palakkad has developed a novel sensor system for Human-Machine Interface (HMI) applications that can detect the position and grip of a person's hands without using cameras, potentially enhancing vehicle safety while addressing privacy concerns. The sensor system was developed by Dr Sreenath Vijayakumar, Associate Professor, and Pinku Sebastian, Technical Superintendent, Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Palakkad.
