Telangana's Khammam railway station redevelopment nearing completion under Amrit Bharat scheme

Khammam (Telangana), Sep 16 (UNI) Redevelopment works at Khammam Railway Station in Telangana, being undertaken under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS) at a cost of Rs 25.41 crore, are nearing completion, South Central Railway (SCR) said on Wednesday. The redevelopment is aimed at providing improved passenger amenities, accessibility and convenience at the station, which handles an average footfall of around 20,000 passengers per day. Khammam station, under the Secunderabad Division of South Central Railway, is categorised as a Non-Suburban Grade-3 (NSG-3) station and falls on the Kazipet-Vijayawada section.
