Kerala railway allocation rises to Rs 3,795 crore in 2026-27

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 21 (UNI) Kerala's railway sector is witnessing a major expansion with the Centre increasing the railway allocation for the state to Rs 3,795 crore for the 2026-27 financial year from Rs 372 crore during the previous government's tenure, while development works worth more than Rs 20,000 crore are currently under way across the state. The ongoing projects include nine new railway line and track-doubling projects and 145 road overbridges and underpasses, even as several major works continue to face delays over land acquisition.
