SIR: BJP urges DGP to prevent political pressure in Form 7 FIRs

Bengaluru, Oct 3 (UNI) The Karnataka BJP on Saturday sought police protection for those participating in the electoral-roll revision process, urging the DGP-IGP to ensure that criminal cases arising from Form 7 applications are not pursued under "political pressure". In a letter to DGP-IGP, the BJP said the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls is a statutory exercise conducted under the framework of the Election Commission of India and Form 7 is an integral part of the process.
