Kharge seeks overhaul of drought relief norms for Karnataka farmers

New Delhi, Oct 3 (UNI) Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has sought an overhaul of drought relief norms for Karnataka farmers, asking the Centre to replace the 2015-16 Agriculture Census with updated Bhoomi land records for determining eligibility for input subsidy. In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kharge said the use of the decade-old census data could exclude eligible small and marginal farmers from drought relief and urged the Centre to ensure that assistance reaches all affected farming families.
