Kerala HM slams former DGP R. Sreelekha over Operation Toofan remark, demands apology

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 15 (UNI) Kerala Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala on Thursday demanded that former DGP and Thiruvananthapuram Corporation councillor R Sreelekha withdraw her remark describing Operation Toofan as fake and apologise. Talking to reporters here, Chennithala said it was inappropriate for a former DGP to make such statements and level baseless allegations against the Kerala Police. Operation Toofan, launched on June 2 as part of the state's campaign against narcotics, had received public support across Kerala, cutting across political affiliations, he said.
