Telangana: Press freedom has weakened, says Chinta Mohan

Hyderabad, Sep 21 (UNI) Senior Congress leader and former union Minister Chinta Mohan on Monday expressed concern over what he described as a decline in press freedom in the country and alleged that corporate ownership had weakened media independence. Addressing the media at the Press Club in Somajiguda here, Mr Chinta Mohan said a free press is essential for a healthy democracy and described it as one of the important pillars of the democratic system.
