MRPL fire: One killed, nine injured after high-pressure separator ruptures

Mangaluru, Sept 30 (UNI) A fire following the rupture of a high-pressure Cold Separator in the Coker Hydrotreater Unit at the Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) premises near Jokatte claimed one life and left nine others injured on Wednesday, with the blaze completely extinguished by 1447 hours. According to an MRPL update, the incident occurred at around 1220 hours when the Cold Separator, operating at high pressure in the Coker Hydrotreater Unit, ruptured, resulting in a fire.
