EC orders action over false Form-7 filings amid Karnataka SIR row

Bengaluru, Oct 2 (UNI) The Election Commission has ordered election officials to initiate legal action against those found to have knowingly filed false claims or objections through electoral forms, including Form-7, amid allegations of bulk applications seeking deletion of voters' names in Karnataka's ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR). Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer V Anbukkumar directed District Election Officers and Electoral Registration Officers across the state's 224 Assembly constituencies to scrutinise complaints of bulk and allegedly non-genuine Form-7 applications and take action in accordance with law.
